Fashion Through the Decades @ Port Coquitlam

On saturday, I had the chance to attend to an event part of the centennial celebrations of the City of Port Coquitlam at the Wilson Centre. The sold-out events (March 28 and 30th) were organized by the Wilson Centre Seniors’ Advisory Association and the Port Coquitlam Spirit Committee which showcased vintage outfits from 1913 to the present day. Also, they were selling signature 100th birthday bowler hats as a souvenir and fundraiser as a way to support the Wilson Centre Seniors’ Advisory Association.
PoCo Mayor Greg Moore and his wife, Erin, were the first to appear on the runway showing their outfits from the 1910s. Many of the local neighbours participated as models and they show their enthusiasm and did a great job. The show lasted two hours with a 10 minutes intermission and at the end, guests were invited to a delicious dessert buffet sponsored by Safeway.
